The [https://seaofthievespedia.com/ Sea of Thieves event guide|https://seaofthievespedia.com/] of Thieves closed beta has only been active for a handful of days, but that hasn't stopped hungry gamers from turning over every rock (in-game or otherwise) in the quest to uncover as much about the game as possible. The upcoming multiplayer seafaring experience will see pirates voyaging from island to island in search of treasure, contracts, and glory, but the closed beta only offers a sample-sized portion of the full picture. Now, Sea of Thieves fans have datamined the closed beta in order to get a better glimpse of what is to c

While the Sea of Thieves trailer was short, it did provide a few interesting details about the upcoming title. Players will explore an open world that includes big and small islands, ships to sail aboard, and people to interact w

Even though Rare Replay was one of the most pleasant surprises of 2015, it's been far too long since Rare has made a game that feels truly aligned with its original development vision. Yes, the masterminds of yesteryear have moved on from the heralded development studio, but when we got a glimpse of Rare's next project, it's hard not to feel that awesome blend of nostalgia and novelty that this UK-based developer seemed to capture so well.

New game mechanics are also mentioned in the post. Behavior and combat effects are to be added to the large kraken battles featured in the game. Tweaks are also being done of enemy difficulty, with more difficulty ranks being added to skeleton enem

As the follow-up to one of our favorite games of 2012, Dishonored 2 had an easy road to winning us over. But even then the sequel doesn’t feel like a simple rehash or graphical upgrade. A new hero, a new locale, and lots of interesting new powers are just a few of the reasons we’re excited for Dishonored 2 later this year, and a demo ripe with intriguing twists served as the perfect appeti

In a recent post on Reddit, user vJoeyz shared news regarding a possible Sea of Thieves open-beta. The information, obtained by digging through newly added files for the insiders-only version of the game, contains multiple references to content for an unannounced open beta. The only way the closed beta could be accessed was to either have it pre-ordered or be a member of the games insider prog

This isn't commentary on the fact that Skull & Bones has all the potential in the world to muscle in on Sea of Thieves ' territory, either. We went hands on with Rare's upcoming multiplayer pirate experience and came away wanting more, both in terms of gameplay (because it was good) and features (because it seemed largely the same). Sea of Thieves is still a good game, and there's some enjoyment to be had within its colorful pirate world, but it feels like it hasn't evolved since the last time we saw it, and that's cause for some disappointm

A strong candidate for Best of E3 last year, Horizon: Zero Dawn followed the prototypical formula. After showing a hands-off demo at E3 2015, the developers at Guerrilla Games put the controllers in the hands of E3 attendees and proved to them that the game is real. It was in that hands-on demo that Horizon really solidified as a special experience. Most of all, Horizon: Zero Dawn is exactly the type of game that some would argue E3 needs more of: original IPs that are not afraid to take chances. Hats off to Guerrilla for doing something differ

While all this should be taken with a grain of salt, it's easy to see why a Rare and Microsoft would be gearing up for an open beta. With the hype surrounding the game right now thanks to the closed-beta and high twitch viewership, not to mention a limited edition controller set to be released, the studios would want to keep riding this high up until the game's release and an open-beta could go a long way towards t

Yes, Days Gone is another zombie game, but its approach to the horde could put a unique spin on traditional third person action. Where most games tend to be about clearing out the entire enemy force, Days Gone seems to make that impossible. It’s a game where survival is not necessarily about bullets and accuracy, but tactics and speed. We still need to see more of the story to decide whether the game has more to it, but for an E3 experience, Days Gone took the familiar and made it fr

It's been a while since we've heard new details about Capybara's long-in-development dungeon crawler, hasn't it. I continue to maintain that the demos of Below that I've spent time with are some of the best gaming experiences I've had in quite some time, but we are getting to the point where it's hard not to wonder what the hold up is. Capy is a studio loaded with immensely talented people who take a ton of pride in what they do, and the hope here is that the final touches are being put into place. Below was originally set to be a 2015 title, and Capy has gone into the portion of its development cycle where it falls completely silent until the final title is released. Now that it's 2016, it would be wonderful to see a new trailer or two before a launch before March 31 of this year. Let's face it, if we go through another six months without hearing anything about Below, it's going to be hard to remind gamers why they should care about this wonderful title all over again.
