Portal 2 , Skyrim , and Batman: Arkham City are just a few Arena of Valor strategy the games (as expected) earned multiple nominations, but Uncharted 3 - even as acclaimed as it was - is not in the running for "Game of the Year." Other titles with multiple nominations include L.A. Noire , Battlefield 3 , and Basti

Both The Legend of Heroes: Hajimari no Kiseki and the game after it, now confirmed to be out by September 2021, were first teased by Falcom in March 2019 . Both games have been developed simultaneously. The next game will start a new arc and it's supposed to be the "Calvard arc". Both games were furthermore teased with screenshots and story hints  in June 2019, at the Kiseki  Series 15th Anniversary Event . Lastly, Falcom mentioned in November 2019  that a new Kiseki game would launch in Japan by September 2020. Hajimari was finally announced on December 18, 2019 , at a shareholders meet

While Teyvat may have, in many ways, been inspired by real life cultures and governments, plenty of work was put into developing the world. Every time the creators of that world make a decision on a piece of lore, no matter the size, they have to ask themselves the question that players might ask: "But why?" They must come up with an answer to this question for every storytelling device they conceive. And miHoYo has done this on a massive scale in one game versus the many entries it took Nintendo to establish Hyrule in Zelda . So by saying that Genshin Impact is just a Breath of the Wild knockoff or clone , it could diminish the work the developer put into crafting this unique l

However, it seems this open world and the mechanics that come along with it have caused several players to talk for other reasons. Many players have taken to social media to compare the game to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild , calling it various nicknames like "Anime of the Wild" or "Breath of the Waifu" for its anime-like style of art. And while some players seem to feel that this comparison to the beloved Nintendo Switch title might be a compliment, it might actually be doing Genshin Impact a disserv

Since we're talking about a complete different market, you should not be surprised to see a lot of unfamiliar mobile games in the list. Japanese developers are busy, so small mobile timewasters do tend to fit their lifest

Although Genshin Impact is similar to Breath of the Wild , it seems clear that these games accomplish very different goals. It's the same reason why someone wouldn't say Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is like Doom Eternal . Yes, they're both first-person shooter games, but that's about where the similarities end. And by saying Genshin Impact is like Breath of the Wild , it obfuscates the hard work that was put into the g

It's the end of the year, and it's time for rankings and awards. The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu prompted a hundred Japanese developers and industry personalities to rank their favorite games of 2017, and here you can find a translation of the full top 100. Yeah, that's a lot of titles to transl

In May, it has also been confirmed a variety of features, such as full Spectator mode, Twitch integration, and support for in-game tournaments with the all-new Gauntlet mode will be added. Gauntlets are limited-time, in-game tournaments where you create a deck out of the cards in your collection and compete against other players to reach the top of the Gauntlet leaderboard. The conditions, prizes, and length of the Gauntlets changes month-to-month. More details on May features will arrive in the "coming mont

If the beginning of 2018 has taught us anything, it's that Dragon Ball Z can deliver a fantastic tournament fighter if it wants to. The high-octane fighting the franchise is known for lending itself well to the fighting genre and the next step for these otherworldly characters to test their power levels will be on the small screen in Dragon Ball Legends. Smartphones and tablets have become incredibly popular gaming platforms, though the nature of the touch controls seem like an unusual instrument for carrying out combos. After experiencing Dragon Ball FighterZ, it's only natural to have some skepticism about the format transferring to the small screen, but given Bandai Namco's recent track record, this title deserves to be examined with an open mind.
