After you've received your Bamboo Pole, it's time to learn how to fish in Stardew Valley. Fishing involves a really unique minigame that becomes easier as your Fishing skill develops and as you upgrade your fishing
Stardew Valley operates in a world with four seasons, just like our own, and on a timer, giving your character all morning, afternoon, and evening to get things done around the farm and in Pelican Town. It's important to know the different fish in the game because there are some that are only available in certain seasons, types of weather, or locations in the g
For those that don't know: Stardew Valley first released for PC back in February 2016, where it emerged as an out-of-nowhere breakout hit, quickly passing one million copies sold . Ports for Mac, Linux, PS4, and Xbox One were then released later that year, while the game's Wii U version was cancelled in favor of a Switch rele
"Ghibli's work plays a particular role in the visuals we're working to create for the game. The environments of Studio Ghibli films are so captivating and charming—we want our players to enjoy this world in that same

Fishing in the game reminds me a lot of Animal Crossing, where it's a task that I normally wouldn't enjoy in a game -- but it's done so well here that it works. Animal Crossing added a lot of comedy to catching fish, while Stardew focuses on bringing the relaxing nature of fishing to a video game. It's just you, a body of water, your fishing rod, and a bit of relaxation. It's easy to find yourself closing yours eyes and just relying on your sense of touch to tell when you've got a bite -- then you have to get back into the in-game world and reel that fish in to see what you've nabbed. Big fish are rare, but small fish can still net you some money consistently, and be found pretty much anywhere you can fish. It's a tranquil experience, and one that not only brings out the fun of real-life fishing -- but also manages to make it fun as a game mechanic.
As a simulation game at its core, players manage their characters' time on a micro and macro level, tend to their crops, raise livestock, mine for resources, craft, and more, as well as engage in social activities with residents of the small local town. The name of the game is to earn money and expand your farm (and in the process help rejuvenate Stardew Valley), all which can be done as you see fit given the game's open-ended nat
Stardew Valley's pixel art style is perfect for the Switch. The smoothed-out look is gorgeous on both a TV or on the go and having this adventure playable anywhere you're at is wonderful. The use of highly-detailed pixel art brings out both the beauty of the 32-bit era of 2D games, but also goes beyond that with a level of detail that was never used back then. As a result, being able to see your character wince a bit when hitting something or see different facial expressions. Having realistic proportions helps the narrative out a bit. There isn't a ton of animation, but what's here is solid and the world as a whole looks gorgeous -- with rundown buildings looking like they haven't been used in many years.
Players are likely to find a soft spot in their hearts for Sebastian , the sedentary loner that spends a little too much time on the computer working. He is geeky and lovably rebellious, although there is a little bit more to him than meets the
